These are text advertisements for a business or service in a specific geographic area. Each business is displayed on the map with an icon representing that business type.

Cost

These ads are free - as long as the business is related to fishing or benefits fishing. It cannot be an internet only business.

As a business advertiser, can I create hotspots?
Absolutely. You have the ability to enter as many interesting hotspots in your area that you think may draw visitors in. The more hotspots you create, the more exposure you generate for your business, and the more local visitors you will attract. This really puts you in control of your exposure.

Services
If you offer a service (eg fishing guide) then create the listing for the location of your service, NOT where you are located. This attracts travellers that will be visiting the area you service.

What if I don't know my Coordinates?
We encourage you to provide exact Latitude and Longitude coordinates (using the map tool). Using the map tool, you should be able to easily locate your position fairly accurately. All of Georec works on geographic coordinates, but we try and make it easy.

Why a Geographic based model?
When travellers are looking to visit a certain area, because of their particular interests (fly fishing, saltwater, etc), they typically find the area that suits their needs first and then look for supporting services and products, such as lodging, guides, supplies local to that area. As a business owner you can target these travellers who are a highly focused group of potential customers who are possibly already planning a trip to your neck of the woods

REMEMBER
Create your business listing under the correct category. Don't use the hotspots listings as this makes it confusing for users to find you.
